A sold-out screening of the film at Cavan Town's Odeon Cinema on Thursday, 18th January was attended by Cathaoirleach of Cavan County Council, Cllr Paddy McDonald.

Follwoing the screening, Cllr McDonald praised the film and said it was a fine example of the creativity present in Cavan.

"I throughly enjoyed this fine film, and I commend Pádraig Conaty, Kevin McGahern and all the cast and crew for their hard work in creating what was clearly a labour of love. I hope to see many more films produced in Cavan in the future."

Written and directed Pádraig Conaty and starring Kevin McGahern, Shane Connaughton, Charles McGuinness, Seamus O'Rourke, Sonya O'Donoghue, Ray Reilly, and Ray Fitzsimons, 'No Party for Billy Burns' was an official selection at the 2017 Galway Film Fleadh and Cork Film Festival.

The film tells the story of Billy (Kevin McGahern) a simple, good-natured lad and would-be cowboy, lost in the lonely fields of rural Ireland and his own imagination. Billy leads a sheltered existence living with his difficult grandfather (Shane Connaughton). He happily ambles along despite being mocked around the town for not being ‘half solid’. An unfortunate chain of events triggers Billy's loss of innocence, where the lines between reality and fantasy begin to blur.

Due to popular demand, 'No Party for Billy Burns' will screen at the Odeon Cinema on Thursday, 25th January and again on Thursday, 1st February. Tickets are available exclusively from Multisound Cavan.
