LEADER public events

A series of public information events is being held to publicise the LEADER programme in County Cavan

These events will facilitate community groups, private individuals and new or existing enterprises to learn more about LEADER, the rates of aid available, the application process and how to apply for LEADER support.

The LEADER Rural Development Programme (RDP) 2014-2020 for County Cavan is up and running with some projects already nearing completion.

All Strategic Actions in the Cavan LEADER programme are currently open for new applications with the exception of:

·         Self-catering and B&B Tourism accommodation which is closed at present.

The current LEADER Programme has three themes, namely;

1.      Economic Development, Enterprise Development and Job Creation;

Sub Themes: Rural Tourism, Enterprise Development, Rural Towns, Broadband.   


2.      Social Inclusion;

Sub Themes; Basic Services Targeted at hard to reach Communities, Rural Youth.


3.      Rural Environment;

Sub Themes; Protection and Sustainable use of Water Resources, Protection and Improvement of Local Biodiversity, Development of Renewable Energy. 


LEADER staff will be available at the information meetings to provide individual guidance on ‘getting started’ with the application process.
