Notice is hereby given that pursuant to Section 34 of the Planning and Development Act, 2000 as amended, and in accordance with Section 10 of the European Communities (Public Participation) Regulations 2010 that Cavan County Council has issued a Notification of Decision to Grant Planning Permission on the 14th. November, 2017 subject to 22 conditions, to Quinn Building Products Ltd., C/o Quarryplan Limited, 6 Saintfield Road, Crossgar, Downpatrick, Co. Down BT30 9HY for development at Aughrim Mucklagh Quarry Complex for the continuation of quarrying on some of the lands covered by a previous time limited planning consent PL02.206783 to include extraction from two distinct limestone quarries and a shale quarry, with progressive restoration of the development site and the complete rehabilitation of a former shale quarry, over a 20 year period. The development includes lateral development of the two limestone quarries and a shale quarry employing existing practices, environmental mitigation measures and associated works extending over some 60 hectares of the 107.7 hectare site at Aughrim, Mucklagh, Gortoorlan and Snugborough, Ballyconnell, Co. Cavan. The application is accompanied by an Environmental Impact Statement
The applicant and any person who made submissions or observations in writing to the Planning Authority in relation to this planning application may appeal this decision, in accordance with Section 37(1) of the Planning and Development Act 2000, to An Bord Pleanala, 64 Marlborough Street, Dublin 1 within a period of 4 weeks from the date of the decision by the Planning Authority.
