Community And Voluntary Forums

The County Cavan Community and Voluntary Forum is made up of over 380 organisations from around the county that are registered with the Forum.

The Forum itself is made up of 28 community representatives from the following four Area Forums who are elected on an annual basis:

  • Cavan
  • Ballyjamesduff
  • Bailieborough
  • Belturbet

What does the Forum do?

Forum meetings take place on a bi-monthly basis to discuss a range of topics and issues that affect the everyone across County Cavan.

At the Annual General Meeting, representatives are elected onto a range of county wide policy making bodies such as the:

  • County Development Board
  • LEADER
  • Council Strategic Policy Committees
  • Irish Central Border Area Network (ICBAN)
  • County Childcare Committee
  • Regional Drugs Taskforce
  • County Council led Task Force
  • Social Inclusion Working Group
  • Regional Community Fora
