Comhairle na nÓg

Comhairle na nÓg is a junior council for children and young people aged 7 to 17 aimed at providing a voice for children and young people.

Members of Comhairle na nÓg represent children and young people from all district electoral areas of County Cavan and has three main functions.

  1. It is a permanent structure that aims to ensure that children and young people have a voice in matters that affect their lives.
  2. It presents an opportunity to consult children and young people on matters that affect them.
  3. Children and young people are elected from Comhairle na nÓg to Dàil na nÓg (Young people's parliament) and a Dàil na bPaistí (Children's Parliament).
