Need a friend for life ... visit the Dog Pound
Published on: 16 Dec 2013
We all know that choosing a dog over the Christmas period is a serious decision that should be given lots of thought. All dogs cost money to feed and need exercise and lots of attention; not to mention any veterinary fees that may have to be covered to ensure your new pet stays happy and healthy and a dog licence is also required.
Cavan County Council’s Dog Pound, located at Legaland, Crossdoney is home for abandoned dogs 365 days a year. At any one time up to 15 dogs can be waiting for someone to take them to a good home to live out the rest of their days and be cared for. Dogs of all ages, including puppies are being collected daily around the county by the Council’s Dog Warden and placed in the pound.
So this Christmas, if a pet dog is on the Christmas list, why not save money and save a life by calling the Dog Warden on 049 433 7545.
The Dog Pound is open on:
Mondays and Wednesdays between 10am and 12noon and
Fridays between 9.30am and 11am.
Note: People re-homing dogs are asked for a small donation which goes towards the upkeep of the pound and the dog warden service.
