Cavan-Monaghan Science Festival is back!

Save The Date: Cavan-Monaghan Science Festival returns from 6th – 12th November!

Cavan County Council and Monaghan County Council are again joining forces during Science Week from 6th-12th November 2021 hosting a range of events for the 6th Cavan Monaghan Science Festival.

The objectives of the festival are to increase the awareness and visibility of science in our society, promote the importance of science for economic growth, to promote STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) at a local/regional level and to demonstrate that STEAM is fun, educational, and social.

Some of the events planned for adults, children, family, and all members of the public include

Climate action workshops, CSI Water presentations, meteorological events, Inland Fisheries Ireland demonstrations, family friendly events at Teagasc, Ballyhaise, science workshops & demonstrations, career events in STEAM and lots, lots more besides! 

There will also be a series of evening talks on diverse topics such as, ‘the smart phone, is it a phone or a place?’, ‘Fat around the middle’, ‘science of fertility’, ‘the neuroscience of stress, positivity and resilience’, ‘the science of horror movies’ and ‘know your garden birds’.

Throughout the week there will be events across both Cavan and Monaghan targeting adults, children, and teenagers alike and these will be publicised in the programme of events in the coming weeks.  Some events may require booking and details will be provided on the programme of events regarding this.
