Christmas on Townhall Street with The Cottage Market Cavan

Cavan’s Christmas celebrations are set to kick off on Saturday the 13th and Sunday the 14th of December with a vibrant market on Townhall Street. The festivities promise to be packed full of Cavan’s festive cheer and culture!

Over 60 local vendors specializing in artisan food, crafts, and art will take over Townhall Street, showcasing exceptional talent and skill. Visitors can browse unique Christmas gifts like honey, cheese, preserves, cakes, puddings, and locally crafted cordials available from Created in Cavan producers at Market Square. For food lovers, indulge in The Cottage Markets growing street food menu at the DineYard, where you can savour both sweet and savoury dishes! The Craft and Art area will showcase the work of 32 talented, Cavan-based artists, with stunning gifts, from handmade wreaths, knitwear, and jewellery to candles, paintings, soaps, and more!

Adding to the festive atmosphere, live music and entertainment from Cavan musicians will fill the streets, while our outdoor seating area will create the perfect opportunity for locals and visitors to experience the culture and community spirit that exists in our county. Don’t miss the captivating live Street Performances of our new ‘Street Spectacle,’ bringing music, theatre, and special guests like Daidí na Nollag to Townhall Street.

This year introduces exciting additions, including "Homesteading School", where local talented homesteaders are generously sharing their knowledge, and we invite YOU to join, learn, and be inspired. Demonstrations include festive vegan starters, zero-waste Christmas cooking, natural skin rituals, alcohol-free cocktails, homemade bread, and beautiful natural wreaths.
