Lifting Of Do Not Consume Notice - Dowra

Date of Lifting of Drinking Water Restriction Notice : Monday, 8 December, 2025

The Do Not Consume Notice in place on the Dowra Public Water Supply in Co Cavan has been lifted with immediate effect. The notice also applied to customers in Annagh Upper, Eden and Cornageeha in North Leitrim supplied by the Dowra Public Water Supply.

Following consultation with the Health Service Executive (HSE), Uisce Éireann is advising all affected customers that their drinking water can now be consumed as normal. The Do Not Consume Notice was issued on 20 October due to elevated levels of iron and aluminium in the network. Sample testing over recent days has shown that the water is now fully compliant.

Uisce Éireann has a free text service, providing real-time updates for local issues. Customers can sign up with their Eircode and mobile number at www.water.ie
