Call for Applications – Culture Night 2026
Cavan County Council is pleased to announce that Culture Night 2026 will take place on Friday 18 September, from 4pm until late, and is now seeking applications from individuals, artists, organisations and community groups wishing to participate.
Culture Night / Oíche Chultúir is a national, all-island celebration of culture, creativity and the arts, presented by the Arts Council in partnership with local authorities, including Cavan County Council. This annual event invites everyone, everywhere to discover and celebrate culture in all its forms on one special night.
The programme spans a wide range of sectors including arts, heritage, education, tourism, health, the Irish language, and community initiatives. It aims to engage broad and diverse audiences, including those who may not regularly access cultural events. Events take place across cities, towns, villages and rural locations, as well as online.
Funding
Cavan County Council will support a number of events across the county with funding ranging from €250 to €1,200.
Please note:
- Not all applications may be funded.
- The full amount requested may not be awarded.
- Applications should clearly reflect the proposed budget and project scope.
Application Requirements
Applicants must upload the following:
- Project Budget (Word or Excel format)
- Image for use in promotional materials (permission required)
Applicants are advised to ensure that all sections of the application form are completed and that the form is submitted successfully. A confirmation email will issue once your application has been received.

- Deadline: Sunday 28 June 2026 at 8:00pm
