Road Closures

Notice is hereby given that Cavan County Council intends to close to public traffic the National Secondary Road N87 between the Townlands of Lisnamaine and Gartaquill between Monday 3rd August and Sunday 16th August 2026 between the hours of 8am and 6pm for the purpose of road resurfacing.

R-205-0 Main Street, Ballyconnell is proposed to be closed from its junction with the N-87-8 (Belturbet to Swanlinbar Road) to its junction with the L-50532-0 (Preaching House Lane) on Saturday, 1st and Sunday 2nd August to facilitate the Ballyconnell Weekend Festival 2026

The L7108, Millstream Bridge Mullagh will be closed from 8am on Monday, 13 July to 5pm on Friday, 7 August 2026 for the purpose of bridge rehabilitation works.

The L2507 & L2508 from Loch Gowna to Arvagh will be closed on Saturday, 1 August 2026 between the hours of 12:30pm and 4:30pm for the purpose of facilitating the Breffni 3 Province Challenge.

The L-1031-0 Creamery Road, Swanlinbar will be closed from its junction with the N-87-8 at Furnaceland to its junction with the L-10311-0 & the L-1032-0 in Gortacashel from Wednesday 22nd to Friday 31st July (Monday - Friday only)

Notice is hereby given that Cavan County Council has made an order to close to public traffic theL-6566 (Killycannon) between the hours of 8am on Monday 10th August to Friday, 14th August at 6pm to facilitate essential pavement repair works.

Notice is hereby given that Cavan County Council has made an order to close to public traffic the L-5591-0 Castle Street (locally known as Castle Hill), Belturbet, from Monday 27th July 2026 to Friday 31st July 2026 and again from Monday 3rd August 2026 to Wednesday 5th August 2026, 8am to 6pm each day for the purposes of resurfacing works.

Notice is hereby given that Cavan County Council has made an order to close to public traffic, the R394 Finnea to Bracklagh, from Thursday 16th to Friday 17th July between the hours 8:30am to 5:30pm for the purpose of emergency surfacing works.
