Exempt a Vehicle

To tax a new vehicle, you will need:

• Completed Form RF100 from motor dealer or NCT Centre
• Evidence of Exempt Status e.g. Disabled Driver’s Certificate, or completed Declaration Form RF3 confirming specific use for any other exempt class of vehicle – supporting documents regarding the content of the declaration form may be requested.

To tax a used vehicle not previously taxed as exempt, you will need:

• Completed Change of Particulars Form RF111  – to change status to exempt and also fully completed with renewal details
• Evidence of Exempt Status e.g. Disabled Driver’s Certificate, or completed Declaration Form RF3 confirming specific use for any other exempt class of vehicle – supporting documents regarding the content of the declaration form may be requested.
