Cllr Adrian Rogers co-opted to Council
At the May meeting of the Council, councillors approved the co-option of Councillor Adrian Rogers, who now occupies the seat vacated by Sarah O'Reilly following her election to Seanad Éireann.
Cllr Rogers, a well-known business owner in the Bailieborough area, will represent Aontú in the Bailieborough-Cootehill Municipal District and listed being a voice for the community and an advocate for local business among his priorities on entering the chamber.
He was wished well in his political career by councillors across the chamber and by Chief Executive Eoin Doyle.
Cathaoirleach Cllr TP O'Reilly hailed Cllr Rogers' energy, saying he was someone who was always willing to help in the community, noting he was "off to a good start" in politics with these character traits.
Both the Chief Executive and the Cathaoirleach also took the opportunity to congratulate Senator Sarah O'Reilly, who was present for the co-option, on her election Seanad Éireann, as did councillors from all sides of the chamber.
