Emergency Road Closure - L-5586-0 Kilmore Upper

Temporary Closing of Roads pursuant to Section 75 of Roads Act 1993 and Article 12 of Road Regulations 1994.

Notice is hereby given that Cavan County Council has made an order to close to public traffic the road described hereunder from Monday, 4th August to Friday 8th August and again from Monday, 11th August 2025 to Wednesday, 13th August 2025,from 8am to 6pm each day for the purposes of resurfacing works.

Road closed

L-5586-0 from its junction with the R-198-2 & L-1531-0 in the townland of Kilmore Upper to its junction with the L-5582-0 in the townland of Togher or Danesfort Demesne.

Alternative Route

Northbound – From Junction L-5586-0 / R-198-2 / L-1531-0 travel southwestwards along the R-198-2 to Junction R-192-2 / R-198-3 / L-1530-0, then westwards along the L-1530-0 to Junction L-1530-0 / L-1529-0, then northwards along the L-1529-0 to Junction L-1529-0 / L-5582-0, then northeastwards along the L-5582-0 to Junction L-5582-0 / L-5586-0. End of detour.
Southbound – The same alternative route in reverse will apply to southbound traffic.

Diversions will be signposted for the duration of the works.

Local access will be accommodated where practicable.
