Emergency Road Closure - R-200-3 Glangevlin

Temporary Closing of Roads pursuant to Section 75 of Roads Act 1993 and Article 12 of Road Regulations 1994.

Notice is hereby given that Cavan County Council has made an order to close to public traffic the road described hereunder from Monday 22nd September 2025 to Thursday 25th September 2025, 8:00am to 6:00pm each day for the purposes of resurfacing works.  

Roads Closed

  • R-200-3 “Glangevlin to Ballyconnell Road” from its junction with the R-206-0 (Glangevlin) in the townland of Gub or Garvalt Upper for a distance of 600 metres eastwards.

Alternative Route

  • Westbound – Travel eastwards via R-200-3, R-200-4 & R-200-5 to Junction R-200-5 / R-202-0 in the townland of Derrynacreeve, travel short distance north via R-202-0 to Derrynacreeve Cross Roads (Junction R-202-0 / N-87-4 / N-87 -5), then northwards via Swanlinbar along N-87 and A32 to Junction A32 / B195 at Drumlaghy, then westwards via Florencecourt along B195 and L-1010 to Tuam, Blacklion (Junction L-1010 / L-5016 / N-16-1), then westwards along N-16 to its junction with R-206-4, then south-westwards along R-206-4 to its junction with R-206-3, then southwards along R-206 to re-join the R-200 at Glangevlin. End of detour.
  • Eastbound - The same alternative route in reverse will apply to Eastbound traffic.

Diversions will be signposted for the duration of the works. Local access only will be accommodated as far as practicable.
