Outdoor Recreation Plan

At a launch event on Friday, 6 June 2025 in Cavan County Council headquarters at Courthouse Cavan, Cathaoirleach of Cavan County Council Cllr TP O’Reilly was joined by fellow elected members, council staff, and key stakeholders in the sporting and active recreation sectors to launch the Cavan Outdoor Recreation Plan 2025-2030.

Cavan’s Outdoor Recreation Plan has been developed in accordance with the national outdoor recreation strategy 'Embracing Ireland’s Outdoors 2023 -2027’, and adopts a collaborative, cross-sector approach, bringing together stakeholders to ensure the sustainable development and management of outdoor recreation. A County outdoor recreation committee has been established to oversee the development of the plan.
