Road Closure Notice - Cashel Cross Safety Scheme

11 Mar 2024

Temporary closing of Roads pursuant to Section 75 of Roads Act 1993 and Article 12 of Roads Regulations 1994.

Notice is hereby given that Cavan County Council intend to close to public traffic the roads described hereunder from 8am on Monday 25th March to 6pm on Friday, 10th May to facilitate essential junction improvement works associated with the Cashel Cross Safety Scheme.

Roads Closed:

L6568 at the Junction of Cashel Cross
L2506 at the Junction of Cashel Cross

Alternative Route:

Traffic coming from Granard and needing to use the L-6568 will be diverted by the R154 and L6569.
Traffic coming from Granard and needing to use the L-2506 will be diverted by the R198
Traffic coming from Cavan Town should continue into Ballinagh Town and use the signed diversion route via the R198 and R154.

Local traffic in the area will be accommodated as far as possible on either side of the Cashel Cross area.
