Emergency Road Closure – L-1501-0 Barrack Hill, Belturbet

Temporary Closing of Roads pursuant to Section 75 of Roads Act 1993 and Article 12 of Road Regulations 1994.

Notice is hereby given that Cavan County Council has made an order to close to public traffic the road described hereunder each night from 7pm until 7am the following morning starting Monday 10th November until Friday 14th November 2025 for the purposes of resurfacing works.

Road closed

• L-1501-0 Barrack Hill, Belturbet from its junction with the R-197-0 (junction of Deanery Street and Holborn Hill) in the townland of Corporation Lands to its junction with the L-15011-0 (road to Creeny Industrial Estate) in the townland of Creeny.

Alternative Route:

• Northbound – From Junction R-197-0 / L-1501-0 (junction of Barrack Hill, Holborn Hill & Deanery Street) travel south-eastwards via the R-197-0 to Junction R-197-0 / L-1535-0 / R-197-1 (Sugar Loaf), then eastwards along the R-197-1 to Junction R-197-1 / N-54-0 / N-54-1 (Gannon’s Cross), then northwards along the N-54-1 to Junction N-54-1 / L-1500-0 (Castlesaunderson), then westwards along the L-1500-0 & L-1501-0. End of detour.
• Southbound – The same alternative route in reverse will apply to southbound traffic.
