Emergency Road Closure – Cootehill Christmas Market 2025

Temporary Closing of Roads pursuant to Section 75 of Roads Act 1993 and Article 12 of Road Regulations 1994.

Notice is hereby given that Cavan County Council has made an order to close to public traffic the roads/areas described hereunder on Sunday 23rd November 2025 between the hours of 8.00 am and 8.00 pm, for the purposes of accommodating the Cootehill Christmas Market 2025.

Roads Closed

L-6157-0 (Accessed from Bridge Street)
L-61462-0 (Accessed from Market Street)
L-6161-0 (Accessed from Fairgreen)

The entrance to the Pig Market area will be closed from Bridge Street, the Public Car Park behind Super Value will be closed from the Fairgreen side and the entrance from Market Street.

The area will be closed to cars for access and parking apart from Market Vendors.

Pedestrian access will be allowed from all three entrances.
