Safety Notice - Night time closure of Con Smith Park Playground

17 Nov 2025

Cavan County Council wishes to inform the public that, due to repeated incidents of anti-social behaviour, the playground at Con Smith Park, Cavan will be closed during night-time hours between 5pm – 8am, effective from 17th November 2025.

This measure is being taken to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all members of the community and to protect the facility from further incidents. The playground will remain open for families and children to enjoy between the hours of 8am – 5pm.

Cavan County Council appreciates the public's understanding and cooperation as we work to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for everyone to enjoy.
