Summer Cottage Market returns

Cavan’s Summer Cottage Market returns on Saturday, 7th June and Sunday 8th June 2025 with over 50 local vendors specialising in artisan food, crafts, and art showcasing their exceptional talent and skills.

 

This open-air summer celebration will take place on the beautiful grounds of Con Smith Park, on Cavan’s Cathedral Road and features all the special elements that has made this summer market such a hit with patrons including a food court area featuring Created in Cavan producers of honey, cheese, ice cream, cakes, and locally crafted cordials from artisan producers. Indulge in the growing street food menu at the DineYard, where you can savour both sweet and savoury dishes.

 

Support your local community this summer with a visit to the Craft and Art Marquee, feature twenty talented Cavan-based crafters and artists, while music and entertainment will be provided by a host of Cavan musicians. The outdoor seating area will create the perfect opportunity for locals and visitors to experience the culture and community spirit of our county.

 

Morning and afternoon yoga and Pilates sessions will take place in collaboration with Align Studio and Cavan Sports Partnership - the perfect way to unwind and recharge during the event.

 

Playful Park will be buzzing with activity and fun, hands-on experiences, while free creative activities for children and young people under 18 will be on offer for Cruinniú na nÓg.

 

New art installations will bring magic and beauty to the park. ‘Fairy Trails of Cavan’ by Debbie Gubiotti is a hidden trail that invites you to follow an interactive guide through nature, while ‘Flower Power’, a striking sculpture by Rosie Cole, celebrates the beauty of flowers - offering a peaceful spot for visitors to sit and relax.

 

An exciting, brand-new initiative, the School of Homesteading, will feature short, practical demos and talks designed to share traditional skills and sustainable living know-how with the community.

 

Visitors are encouraged to walk or cycle to this event where possible and to bring a picnic blanket and embrace our ‘outdoor summer’. 

 

This free, fully outdoor market, brought to you by The Cottage Market Cavan and supported by Created in Cavan, This Is Cavan!, and Cavan County Council, runs from 12noon until 6pm on Saturday and Sunday. Parking is available at Cavan Institute H12 E426.
