Waste Disposal and Recovery Activities

If you engage in certain waste disposal or recovery activities, it is a legal requirement that you have a waste licence or waste facility permit or certificate of registration.

If you operate an illegal waste business, you could be prosecuted and face fines of up to €5,000 and/or 12 months in prison on conviction.

Car breaking/dismantling
Infill sites for soil & stone wastes
Recycling or Recovery of waste plastics/tyres/waste electrical equipment/scrap metal
