Parking Fines

Where a motorist has parked within a pay and display parking area and has failed to pay for parking, a fixed charge parking fine will be issued. Cavan County Council’s appointed Traffic Wardens administer parking fines.

Parking Fines can be paid in the following ways:

  • Credit/Debit Card Payments can be made by phoning 049 4378660.
  • By Cheque or Postal Order or Bank Draft made payable to Cavan County Council and sent by post to Parking Section, Cavan County Council, Courthouse, Farnham Street, Cavan.
  • By Cash at the Customer Service Desk, Second Floor, Johnston Central Library, Farnham Street, Cavan. Please do not send cash via post.
  • Online, pay your parking fine on Cavan - County Council (globetechparking.com)

The Fixed Charge Parking Fine Number should be quoted on all payments.

Please note – All fines are subject to a 50% increase if not paid within 28 calendar days from the date of issue of the fine.

If not paid within 56 calendar days from the date of issue of the fine, prosecution through the District Court will be initiated.

The Parking Section within the Council’s Environmental Services administer parking enforcement in Cavan County Council’s Administrative Area and fixed charge parking fine appeals should be directed to them.

If the registered owner, or nominated driver wishes to appeal a fixed charge parking fine, they must submit their appeal in writing to the Parking Section within 28 days from the date the fine was issued stating the reasons for the appeal, the vehicle registration number and the fixed charge parking fine number.
