Residential Zoned Land Tax (RZLT)
Cavan County Council has prepared the annual draft maps of land considered to be in scope for the RZLT as of 1 January 2025 payable for the tax in 2026. The Final RZLT Map for 2025 is also available to view indicating lands in scope for the RZLT 2025 which are payable for the tax in 2025.

New Online Payments
Cavan County Council has introduced a new 24 hour secure online payments service for rents and rates.
Speed Limit Changes
On 7 February, speed limits on rural local roads reduce from 80km/h to 60 km/h. This change will make Ireland’s roads safer for motorists, pedestrians, cyclists, and all road users.
Motor Tax Office Commercial Vehicles Taxation
From the 14th of October Cavan Motor Tax Office can only accept applications for taxation of commercial vehicles by Appointment Only each Friday.
