The members of Cavan County Council have created a funding scheme in each of the three Municipal District areas for the purpose of supporting community groups in delivering and promoting projects in their areas such as small-scale amenity projects, purchase of equipment for community halls/groups, materials, etc.
The Festival and Events Grant Scheme provides financial assistance to groups and organisations engaged in festivals or events at a local level.
As the current spell of fine weather continues, Cavan County Council joins with Water Safety Ireland, the Coast Guard, and the RNLI to urge the public to prioritise safety and be prepared for summer activities on or near the water.
This year’s Africa Day Cavan is taking place on across two dates, with celebrations taking place at Ballyhaise Community Centre on Saturday, 10th May from 7pm – 9.30pm and Cavan Rugby Club on Saturday, 17th May from 2pm-6pm.
The N87 will be closed between Bawnboy and Derrynacreeve on Saturday, 31st May from 10.30am to 2.30pm to accommodate the James McManus Memorial Triathlon.
