Cavan Welcomes British Ambassador

Cathaoirleach Cllr Carmel Brady welcomed the British Ambassador to Ireland, Her Excellency Kara Owen, to Cavan on Monday for an official visit.

Ambassador Owen started off her visit in the heart of the Cuilcagh Lakelands UNESCO Global Geopark, at Trivia House Swanlinbar, where she met with Geopark staff, ambassadors, and members of the award-winning Geopark Regenerative Tourism Business Network.

The Ambassador then travelled to Cavan Town, where she visited Cavan Digital Hub and met with Cavan businesses, were closer business ties and opportunities between Irish and UK businesses were discussed.

Following a visit to Cavan Institute, the Ambassador them travelled to Cavan County Museum in Ballyjamesduff, where she met with elected members and was treated to a tour of the Museum, including the acclaimed WWI Trench Experience, the largest replica First World War trench anywhere in Ireland or the UK.
