Hidden Flavours to Take Visitors Beneath the Surface at Marble Arch Caves

Following the success of Burren Bites: A Taste of Time, Cuilcagh Lakelands UNESCO Global Geopark has announced a new food and heritage experience, Hidden Flavours, which will take place at the iconic Marble Arch Caves on Saturday, 3 October 2026.

Hidden Flavours will offer visitors a unique opportunity to discover the rich food heritage of the Geopark region, while shining a spotlight on the exceptional artisan producers, growers, and food businesses of Fermanagh and Cavan.

Set within one of Ireland's most captivating natural landmarks, Hidden Flavours invites guests on a journey of exploration and discovery through the underground of Marble Arch Caves. Along the way, participants will enjoy a specially curated tasting experience, designed by chef John Roche, inspired by the region's natural environment, cultural traditions and outstanding local produce.

Through guided interpretation, storytelling and carefully crafted food experiences, Hidden Flavours will reveal the hidden connections between the landscape and the flavours it produces.

Speaking about the launch of the new event, Chair of the Geopark Committee, Councillor John Paul Feeley, said "The success of Burren Bites demonstrated the appetite for authentic visitor experiences that celebrate our landscape, heritage and food culture. Hidden Flavours builds on that success by offering a completely new setting and experience at Marble Arch Caves, while continuing to showcase the incredible range of local producers that make our region so special. We are excited to welcome visitors to discover another side of our Geopark through food, storytelling and exploration."

Vice Chair of the Geopark Committee, Councillor Anthony Feely, added "Hidden Flavours is another fantastic opportunity to celebrate the outstanding food and drink producers located throughout Fermanagh and Cavan. By bringing people together in one of the Geopark's most iconic locations, we can share the stories, traditions and passion that sit behind the products created in our region. This event is about discovery in every sense, from exploring a remarkable landscape to uncovering the hidden gems within our local food network."
