Emergency Road Closure, L5578 Gartinardress to Drumgoon

Temporary closing of Roads pursuant to Section 75 of Roads Act 1993 and Article 12 of Roads Regulations 1994

Notice is hereby given that Cavan County Council needs to close to public traffic, the road described hereunder for 2 days, for a full closure on 13th & 14th August 2026 between the hours 9am to 5:30pm for the purpose of emergency surfacing works at Drumamry and Drumgoon.

Roads Closed

L5578 Gartinardress to Drumgoon (part of Corlis Road)

Alternative Route

From Gartinardress, divert via L5578 to Cornafean junction, R198 to Cartwrights Rock/Drummora Great, and R199 to Drumgoon.

The same diversion route will apply in reverse.

Local access will be accommodated where possible.

Diversions will be signposted for the duration of the works.
