In the this Decade of Centenaries 'Webisode' Series, Cavan County Council Historian in Residence Dr Brendan Scott presents informative talks focusing on historical incidents of note that occurred in Cavan 100 years ago.

The full lectures can be accessed at the links below at any time. This lecture series forms part of Cavan County Council's Decade of Centenaries 2022 programme and is supported by the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht under the Decade of Centenaries 2012-2023 Initiative.

Webisode Three premieres on Thursday, 18 August 2022 at 7.30pm.

In the second 'webisode' of the 2022 Decade of Centenaries Lecture Series, Cavan County Council Historian-in-Residence, Dr Brendan Scott discusses Cavan’s Urban District Councils and the revolutionary era 1919-1922'.

‘The minutes for Cavan and Belturbet Urban District Councils (UDCs) offer the historian a vivid snapshot of life 100 years ago. This short webisode discusses the UDCs and their attitudes to the various national and local controversies which took place during the War of Independence.’
