Emergency Road Closure: N3 Cornaslieve

Temporary emergency and proposed road closures are subject to Section 75 of Roads Act 1993 and Article 12 of Roads Regulation 1994.

Notice is hereby given that Cavan County Council has made an order to close to public traffic, the roads described hereunder between 7:30pm to 5:30am over two nights, Thursday 24th and Friday 25th September 2026, in order rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrto facilitate essential pavement repair works and road resurfacing.

Roads Closed

National Primary Road N3 in the Townland of Cornaslieve for the purpose of essential pavement repair works and road resurfacing.

Alternative Route

Traffic travelling northbound through Virginia will be diverted onto the R194 road to Ballyjamesduff and diverted onto the R196 for New Inns Junction.
Traffic travelling southbound from Cavan will be diverted onto the R196 road to Ballyjamesduff and diverted onto the R194 for Virginia.

Local traffic in the area will be accommodated as far as possible.
