Emergency Road Closure, L1508 Deramfield Bridge
Temporary Closing of Roads pursuant to Section 75 of Roads Act 1993 and Article 12 of Road Regulations 1994.
Notice is hereby given that Cavan County Council has made an order to close to public traffic the road described hereunder from 8am on Monday 17th August 2026 until 5pm on Friday 18th September 2026 for the purposes of facilitating bridge rehabilitation works at Deramfield Bridge.
Road closed
- Local road L1508 from its junctions with the R201 & L5525.
Alternative Route
- Eastbound - Traffic travelling east on the R201 wishing to use the L1508 will be diverted onwards on the R201 and then onto the L1507 and then the L5524 (Milltown, then eastwards along L-1507-0 to Junction L-1507-0 / L-5523-0 / L-1510-0 (Bakers Bridge), then east and north along L-1510-0 to Junction L-1510-0 / N3/25, then south-eastwards along N3/25 & N3/26 to Junction N3-26 / L-1511-0, then westwards along L-1511-0 and L-1508-0. End of detour.
- Westbound – The same alternative route in reverse will apply to westbound traffic.
Diversions will be signposted for the duration of the road closure.
