Cavan Food Strategy

Food-Strategy

In 2016 Cavan Co Council commenced the preparation of a Food Strategy. The development of the Strategy was one of the key objectives set out in the Local Economic and Community Plan (2016-2021).

The aim of the Food Strategy is to promote a closer working relationship between all local food industry stakeholders and to build upon the positive achievements of the food sector to date, to help secure the future of this very important sector of the local Cavan economy.

The Cavan Food Network was set up in 2019 to support the indigenous Food and Drinks industry in County Cavan.

Members include Food and Drink Producers, Hospitality businesses and Retailers who are all working together to harness the power of the collective to bring Cavan produce to a wider audience, domestically and internationally.
