Emergency Road Closure: L-5537-0

Temporary Closing of Roads pursuant to Section 75 of Roads Act 1993 and Article 12 of Road Regulations 1994.

Notice is hereby given that Cavan County Council has made an order to close to public traffic the road described hereunder on Friday 9th October 2026 between the hours of 7am to 11am for the purposes of facilitating a crane lift operation.

Road closed

L-5537-0 from a point 90 metres north of its junction with the R-198-1 & R-198-2 in the townland of Drumbar northwards for a distance of 160 metres.

Alternative Route

Northbound – From Junction L-5537-0 / R-198-1 / R-198-2 travel southwards and westwards via the R-198-2 to Junction R-198-2 / L-1512-0 (Grand Gates), then north-westwards along the L-1512-0 to Junction L-1512-0 / L-1513-0, then north-eastwards along the L-1513-0 to Junction L-1513-0 / L-5537-0 to rejoin the L-5537-0. End of detour.
Southbound – The same alternative route in reverse will apply to southbound traffic.

Diversions will be signposted for the duration of the works.

Local access to the L-5537-0 will be from its northern end. All queries to be directed to Elliott Group at 049 4331066.
