Over 300 households receive housing support in 2022

A total of 309 households were provided with housing support by Cavan County Council in 2022. This includes 209 tenancies provided directly by Cavan County Council or through Approved Housing Bodies.

Recently completed schemes include the Fleming’s Place development in Ballinagh and Éanach Lao in Butlersbridge, which recently saw 15 and six tenancies commenced respectively.

Cavan County Council is committed to providing 490 new-build homes over the next five years under the Government’s Housing for All strategy and is also undertaking an extensive voids programme to restore vacant properties to the housing stock.

Visiting the new developments to see first-hand the progress Cavan County Council is making in delivering on its housing targets, Cathaoirleach of Cavan County Council, Councillor John Paul Feeley said, “It’s clear that Cavan County Council’s varied approach in delivering social housing in the county is bearing fruit, and it’s wonderful to see in person the quality of home that is being delivered under our new-build programme”.

“It’s especially pleasing that these high quality homes have been delivered by local contractors, providing a welcome boost to the local economy in addition to high quality family homes,” added Cllr Feeley.
