Road Works Speed Limit Order No. 23/136R

Notice is hereby given that Cavan County Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 10 of the Road Traffic Act 2004 and in the interest of public safety, has made an order entitled Road Works Speed Limit Order No. 23/136R.

Cavan County Council is implementing the following temporary speed limits at the following locations on the N-55 during the construction of the N-55 Cavan to Longford Border Pavement Scheme:

Location 1: Northern Section

Implement a 60km/hr zone for a distance of 1,457m from a point 66m southwest of the R-394 Junction with the N-55 in the townland of Mullaghoran, Co. Cavan, to a point 825m northeast of the N-55 Junction with the L-6560 in the townland of Mullaghoran, Co. Cavan.

Location 2: Southern Section

Implement a 60km/hr zone for a distance of 1,863m from a point 406m southwest of the L-66161 Junction with the N-55 in the townland of Tullygullin, Co. Cavan, to a point 285m northeast of the N-55 Junction with the L-6563 in the townland of Cloncovet, Co. Cavan.

This Road Works Speed Limit will be in effect from Monday, 24 July 2023 for a maximum period of 12 months. The speed limit will only be in force when the signs are in place (duration of the works will be approximately eight weeks).

Road users are advised to please comply with all speed limit signs that will be in place at the above locations.
